I know it feels like you’re suffocating under the weight of having to Adult with a chronic health condition. Getting out of bed in the morning is a sheer act of will. Showering? You call that a win.

 

 

But you remember feeling wild, creative and passionate. You remember being filled with energy to do allthethings, fueled with purpose and enthusiasm.

When you found you couldn’t ‘snap out of’ tiredness, you tried supplements, caffeine, diet changes, doctors, tests, and none of them offered a satisfactory solution to feeling sick and tired all.the.time.

Meds may have reduced your symptoms (or gave you different symptoms), but they didn’t address the core issue. Holistic alternatives like massage and herbal remedies helped you feel better… temporarily. Restrictive diets offered some relief, but there’s no way you can give up all the comfort foods forever (not with your partner or kids eating it right in front of you).

I hear you. It’s really hard to ‘figure it out’ when you’re working through brain fog, and everyone you consult has a different non-answer. But you’ve made it here. You’ve come this far. You are amazing, can we just acknowledge that for a moment?

On my own healing journey, I researched everything, studied all of it, and found that chronic illness and exhaustion have many causes — physical, mental, emotional, and even spiritual. These are complex issues and they require a complex approach.

What you are feeling is not ‘all in your head,’ but it’s not just in your body either.

Often, the root problem that creates the physical symptoms hides where most of us never think to look — in our lifestyles, the stories we tell ourselves, and how much we try to do for other people.


The kind of exhaustion that breaks our bodies often comes from habits and values that have been ingrained in us since birth.

  • You don’t want to be lazy, so you over-do.

  • You don’t want to be selfish, so you over-give.

  • You don’t want to disappoint anyone, so you don’t set boundaries.

  • You want to be there for everyone, so you aren’t there for yourself

 

Yes, a lot of the time we are unconsciously depleting ourselves. And that predisposes us to physical illnesses and fatigue.

 


In my approach, we focus on unpacking why you make the choices you do, what prevents you from making different ones, and how to make sustainable changes so you can put yourself, your energy, and how you feel first

(without feeling selfish, lazy, or guilty about disappointing people).

I hear you - you don’t think that’s enough to make you feel like your old self. You’re right. But without this foundation, none of the other things we’ll do together will work.

 

This foundational piece is about unlearning external expectations imposed on you by your culture, family and the Patriarchy so you can focus on what you know: in your body, in your gut, in your heart.

 
 

This recipe is one part “middle finger to the man”, one part “connect to your intuition” and a million parts “liberating”. I believe you have insights into what’s really going on with your body and what you need to do to shift it. But you can’t hear your inner voice over ALL THIS NOISE. We’ll work to connect you to your own wisdom and knowing. I don’t want you to take my word for what you need because you are the expert on you.

 

Then there’s the Functional Medicine piece of the puzzle. We’ll use targeted lifestyle shifts to reduce and eliminate inflammation, aches and pains, and improve digestion and energy level. When we start shifting the focus to creating habits that support our body’s own ability to find and maintain balance, we have access to greater levels of well-being than we thought possible before. On average, my clients see a 75% reduction in symptoms!

The Energy Shift Strategy is a 6 month 1-1 health coaching and mentoring program that takes you from a life of bla to a life of bliss. We will dig deep into where you are and where you want to be in different areas of your health and life and work together to make your dreams come true.

 

If you chose to grab my hand and jump in, we will:

  • Find out what areas of your life are out of balance — are you over-giving? Over-doing? What really has you on the fast-track to Burnout?

  • Connect you with your own inner knowing, so your body-mind can tell us what is out of balance and give us leads on how to shift it.

  • Use lifestyle medicine to alleviate pain, increase energy, and improve your mood so you can finally experience lasting relief.

 

Through our work you will:

  • Create personalized strategies and structures to optimize your lifestyle around feeling better and improving energy

  • Develop self awareness skills and health tools so you can feel good most of the time and be able to identify, manage and navigate future flares so they don’t take you out

  • Learn which foods help keep flares to a minimum and energy and mood to a joyful maximum

  • Create a structure for habits that help you feel more grounded, with more balanced emotions and an unshakable sense of calm

  • Develop 2-way communication with your body so you can love and trust it again as a friend and ally (your body isn’t working against you - I promise!)

You  want someone to tell you exactly what, when and how to do everything. Of course I will give you great tips, tricks and my two cents but there is plenty of evidence that real change (that actually lasts) comes from inside and not from what an expert is telling you you have to do while wagging a finger in your face. I am here to serve you but if you have to be willing to show up for yourself and do the work or we aren’t going to be a good fit. If you want to sit back and relax while someone “fixes” you and you’re not willing to explore or put the effort in to create lasting lifestyle change, we will not be a good fit.

In our 6 months of 1:1 work, you’ll get:

  • Detailed intake paperwork so you can spill all your guts about all the things (I will analyze your forms carefully to start creating a framework to best use our time together)

  • 1 hour long coaching calls every other week, 12 calls total over 6 months

  • Session notes and “homework” from each call to help keep you focused.

  • 3-month symptom check-in where we compare how you felt when we started to how you feel at the end of month 3 (most clients see significant improvements!). We will celebrate how far you've come and make any changes to goals, plans, approach and focus moving forward 

  • Messaging between sessions if needed (through confidential client portal)

  • Behind the scenes, I will be researching and revisiting your health goals so we can tweak our strategy on a monthly basis for even better results

+ I barely have the energy to get through my life. I’m always feeling behind and rushed. How will I have the time and energy to do this?

Whether we take bigfoot or baby steps in our work together is completely determined by you and what you feel capable of taking on. Consistent tiny changes can yield BIG results. I’ve seen it many times. Imagine where you will be and how you will feel in 5 yrs if you don’t take action now.

+ Why is your program 6 months long? It feels like a big commitment.

When we spend months, years or decades feeling sick or reinforcing a way of doing something, the expectation that we can change overnight (or even quickly) is unrealistic. Lasting lifestyle changes need time to develop, time to become second nature. Generally it takes a few (or many) tries before it will stick. I used to offer a 3 month program but ALL (ok except one person ever!) of my clients stayed with me for 6-12 months. I have confidence as a practitioner to deliver the results I’m promising in a 6 month time frame. I’d be sceptical of someone who promises it in less.

+ What if I feel incapable of or don’t do what you ask? What if it’s too hard?

Every individual moves at their own unique pace. Some people are motivated to tackle many changes at once whereas others can feel overwhelmed and prefer to move slower. I honor and welcome all approaches. As long as you show up for yourself, I will be there for you in a supportive capacity. I have no attachment to how quickly you make progress. I will never make you feel guilty or shame you for falling short of a goal or not following through. I firmly believe that if something isn’t working for you, we just haven’t found the right strategy yet. We will approach it as a learning experience not a failure. I am in service to your higher well-being in whatever timing you need.

+ How will we meet for the sessions?

We can meet via video on Zoom or phone call, whichever you prefer. Those local to Pittsburgh can request outdoor session, walking or sitting, in Riverview Park.

+ What if we get to the 6 month mark and I want to continue?

That is always an option. Most of my clients feel complete at 6 months. Others have things they’d like to continue working on or refining together. When we get to the 6 month mark, you can let me know what you want to continue working on together and I can give you an estimated time container to get there. From there, you can decide if you want to move forward with coaching.
